Our Next 21 Hats Brainstorm
Please join us as we help Elan Daniel decide if it’s time to expand his business making and distributing small-batch hummus.
Hi Everyone,
We will record our next 21 Hats Brainstorm led by Chris Hutchinson on Tuesday, August 19, at 3 ET. As many of you know, these Brainstorms (formerly known as Fishbowls) are virtual gatherings where a business owner presents a challenge, and Chris leads us through the process of asking probing questions, breaking into smaller groups to brainstorm, and then offering our thoughts and suggestions. We also publish the conversations as podcasts (for example: Should I Buy the Family Business?).
On the 19th, our guest of honor will be Elan Daniel, who is trying to decide whether his business, Mazeh, which makes small-batch hummus, is ready to expand and, more to the point, what kind of business it should be. We’ll let Elan tell his own story, but you can imagine some of the challenges. For example, one of the reasons his hummus is so good (yes, I’ve tried it!) is that it’s not fortified with preservatives. Of course, that does present some constraints when it comes to distribution.
As always, the hope is that these 21 Hats Brainstorms—brought to you by New Bridge Studios, which helps companies, creators, and causes connect their story to the bottom line—give all of us the opportunity to learn a few things while also giving back to an entrepreneur who is confronting a challenge. Please join us. And if you or someone you know would like to call upon the wisdom of the 21 Hats crowd in a future 21 Hats Brainstorm, let me know by replying to this email.
