First, know your bottom line before you start. What’s the least you’re willing to accept and still feel good about the outcome? Write it down in ink, not pencil. Next, remember, it’s perfectly fine to walk away. A bad deal today can cost you tomorrow, and walking doesn’t have to mean forever. You can always come back on your terms. One of your most powerful tools is the word ‘no.’ Use it. Don’t fear it. It creates space and clarity.
